The Race Cooper Interview

A lot of my fans and fans of the site have been asking me about Race Cooper and if you don't know Race is a porn star exclusively working for Raging Stallion Studios. Dunkin: How did you come up with your porn name?
Race: Cooper has been a nickname for awhile...coming up with the first name "Race" was sort of a play on words; like a challenge of sorts. Also, I kinda liked what people would think when they met a black guy named Race. The porn industry is completely about image and regardless of what advances people of color have made in the last few years; people will always look at your skin color first. I'm mixed ethnically, but since everything of race when they look at me. I figured that was a good name to go by.

Dunkin: Were you always interested in doing porn?
Race: No, not at all. In fact people that knew me for a long time were surprised that I became a porn star. I think what changed from me was a fear of people's perception. It also helped that I got to meet a number of cool people in the industry, who answered my questions honestly. That helped to dilute the feelings of anxiety I was having, and helped me make the jump 2 years ago.

Dunkin: What was your first day on a porn set like?
Race: I was a little nervous..but it helped that my scene partner and director were my friends. I tend to crack jokes a lot when I'm nervous..so that day I had the crew laughing constantly. After a while getting into it, I forgot about being nervous and fucked like a man man. The cameraman was surprised it was my first time. It was really great. I don't think I've seen that much fun on a set since.

Dunkin: How did you get involved with Raging Stallion Studios?

Race: I've been friends with more than a few people there for years. It took awhile for me to start getting cast in movies, but once I did Chris Ward made me an offer as an exclusive. He also offered me a full time job as Casting Director/Production Coordinator. I think my work on SteamWorks is what sealed the deal. I actually helped coordinate the location for shooting at the Steamworks with my contacts, and then fucked the hell out of Derek Reynolds. I think that's what did it for me.

Dunkin: What does being a Raging Stallion Studios exclusive entail? Hows it feel being a Raging Stallion Studios coordinator?
Race: Being an exclusive is good, because you get more say in who you're partnered with, but the difference work wise isn't that different. Except that you always know who the crew is , what to expect and you feel your needs are pretty much taken care of. I'm pretty low maintenance, so I don't really ask for much. RSS has it easy with me. As far as being a coordinator, it's very, VERY busy. I think I worked 3 months straight without a weekend off. But I do love it, I'm the kind of person, who can't sit still a a desk for very long: so this job keeps me moving. Plus, I'm pretty sociable, so it's great getting to connect with other models. I've met some truly awesome people! Love my job, love the people I work with ...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Dunkin: What is your opinion on the popularity of bareback porn?
Race: It's great for those working in it. Kudos for them in taking it from the back shelf, to front and center. However, I think it has some issues that those producers don't put much thought into. For instance, it pushes porn into this area where a model's health is at risk. It also doesn't inform the viewer of consequences of bareback, what the circumstances of the bareback model's heath is, or that frank discussions should always happen between consenting adults before partaking in it. Will the popularity of it last forever? Not sure. I do know, that the longer it goes on, the more likely a company is to be sued, when a model contracts any STD. Regardless if they sign away their right to it. The longer it goes on, the more government and health organizations will keep tabs on it and look to censure and control the industry. Those are my thoughts, it may be hot it's not very smart.

Dunkin: Who have been some of your favorite performers to work with?
Race: To list my favorite performers...lets see. Okay, Ty LeBeouf, Scott Alexander, Derek Reynolds, Tober Brandt, Drake Jaden, Tony Aziz, Alessio Romero, Jason Adonis and Bryan Slater. Not only were they awesome performers, but they've become some of my best friends. Fucking awesome!
